Kaitie wrote this about Braden at 5 months.

He didn’t have a doctor’s appointment this month but I think he’s weighing in at a whopping 18 lbs! He is quite the mover for his age. He rolls back to front, and front to back. He LOVES his Jumperoo and jumps away all day long! He also loves his Octopus toy; he will smile and laugh it when he sees it. He is more social now, smiling all the time and laughing at silly noises. He’s a champ at solids and won’t miss a meal. He has tried all the veggies and most of the fruits. One of his favorite places to be is at Camp. And he was also baptized this month. He had a huge party with lots of family and friends. He’s gone on play-dates with his friend Kendra, and saw his first parade in Hilton. He enjoyed a lot of time in the pool, which he loved. He still doesn’t sleep through the night and sometimes feels the need to get up twice! But, he is my little love bug.

We were all at a family gathering when we heard of bad storms and tornado warnings coming our way. We left the party and headed home. After the storm passed we headed out to camp and saw some trees down and water-covered roads.

He rolls over all the time from tummy to back and can sit pretty good with support. He loves to watch the Backyardigans and Wonder Pets. He laughs and giggles. He discovered his tongue this month and loves to stick it out and blow bubbles. Time for solid foods... :)

We watched this baby Cedar Waxwing being fed by his mama in a bush. The next morning we noticed the baby was gone. Chris was mowing the lawn and noticed the baby bird in the grass. Without touching him, Chris got him on this board and took him back to the bush. Later we saw that the mama bird had returned to feed her baby.

188/365, June 7, 2009

This is a mayfly that was on the side of my camper. A mayfly spends most of its life as a nymph underwater. This stage may last for several years. When the nymph is ready to emerge as an adult, it rises to the surface of the water, splits out of its skin, and expands its wings. Adult mayflies mate and then die. Some species live as adults for just a day, and others last a week.

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

182/365, July 1, 2009

I wanted to teach the guys how to play Parcheesi. I went to Walmart to buy the game and they didn't have it. So, we made our own game board out of a vinyl tablecloth and used the pawns from our Sorry! game. I found a lot of rule variations online, which caused some "discussions", but it was still fun.

Dan was pretty proud of his diploma. He was going out for the night and I gave him the usual "be good, be careful, be safe" speech. He ran and grabbed his diploma, and put it on my nightstand to remind me of "how proud I was of him"...LOL.

Pretty flowers.

Thursday, June 18, 2009

169/365, June 18, 2009

Here is Braden's 3 month old bear picture. We think we weighs about 13.5 lbs...his next well-baby visit is at 4 months. He is a pretty good boy, but he REALLY like to be held...ALL the time. Which makes it a bit difficult to get things done sometimes. He sleeps through the night most nights, so that is great. He is very alert and is starting to pick up small toys and bring them to his mouth. It's funny to watch him because sometimes this makes him frustrated because he hasn't mastered how to do that. He loves to suck on his entire hand He did roll over one day tummy to back, and he cried because it scared him. He smiles and coos all the time now.

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

153/365, June 2, 2009

My "stash"... I know they are expensive, but I love the convenience of the "100 calorie snacks". I take them out of the packages, put them in a bag, and then hide them from the rest of the family...otherwise "poof" they are gone!

Monday, June 1, 2009

152/365, June 1, 2009

The air show was in Rochester today down at Charlotte Beach. Kaitie and Dave took Braden, not really thinking of how loud (and long) it was going to be. So, Grandma and Grandpa to the rescue! Chris and I made our way through traffic to pick the little munchkin up. We were able to catch a bit of the air show from the car though.

Today is our 24th wedding anniversary. We were married on 5/25/85. I would turn 23 years old that year, Chris would turn 24. We bought our first house 2 months before the wedding, and we are still living in it. We both worked for Kodak at the time-Chris still does. Life was good...and still is. :)

138/365, May 18, 2009

My grandson Braden at 2 months old (12 lbs 0 oz, and 23.5 inches on 5/19/09)

Here is Braden's 2 month "bear picture". We received good news on the the mass that was removed from his tummy last month-it was benign. He smiles and coos now, so that is fun. He sleeps from 10pm-6am most nights. He is pretty happy, but when he is hungry-watch out! He gets really upset and it's hard to hold him off sometimes. He eats six (5oz) bottles a day. So if he sleeps through the night, he eats every 3 hours until bedtime. We call him "little fatty". He has been visiting the campground quite often and loves his stroller-he likes the bumpy ride on the gravel roads. He is starting to hold toys in his hands and he likes to look at his hanging toys-he seems to be able to amuse himself a bit more now.

Sunday, May 17, 2009

137/365, May 17, 2009

Time to go through Braden's things, he has already outgrown all of his newborn clothes.

129/365, May 9, 2009

We put together these photo frames for our Mom for Mother's Day. These are pictures of all of her grandchildren.

Funny story ("now" it's funny...lol). I carefully laid the frames in the back seat of my car and Bella was in the far back of the car. I stopped at the bank for a few minutes, and when I came back Bella had jumped over the seat and was sitting on the frames. Unfortunately the glass broke on one of them. Chris was able to get a new one, but I tell ya, I love my dog, but I was pretty mad at her that day!

127/365, May 7, 2009

Chris had a run in with a goose today. The goose came to the campsite and wanted to attack my dog. Don't worry, there was no harm done to the goose, Chris was just using the shovel for protection and to shoo it away.

123/365, May 3, 2009

Kaitie, Braden, Chris, Bella, and I took a nice walk on the Erie Canal, which is right across the street from our campground.

Opening day at camp! Dan spent his time playing Pokemon on the laptop. The weather was real nice until around 9pm it started raining.

My basil seedlings just popping up. The pot is really tiny, just a few inches tall. So cute.

This cherry tree in my yard was completely bare a few days ago. Now the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

Chris and Dan went fishing and these are a few of the fish they came home with.

I say, "Just great" (said sarcastically)...!

116/365, April 26, 2009

This is one of my favorite things (my Mom bought it for me a few years ago). It's my tart burner. Right now I am burning one of my favorite scents - Sun and Sand by Yankee Candle. It smells like you are on the beach. It reminds me of suntan lotion.

Mommy and Braden enjoying the warm day. Later, we all took a long walk on the canal.

Friday, April 24, 2009

114/365, April 24, 2009

Since we are having temps in the 80's right now, I figured it was time to get my "winter toes" ready to wear sandals by polishing them hot pink.

What I am really missing right now...

For the first time in several years, we are not on vacation this week. We have been to Mexico, Jamaica, Florida, and Myrtle Beach. This is a picture I took last year of one of my favorite vacation spots...the Outer Banks, NC. This is my tribute to "the beach".

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

112/365, April 22, 2009

Kaitie, Dan, Braden, and I met my Mom for lunch today at "Happy Days". It's right in town, and I had never been there...it's a cute little place to eat.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

111/365, April 21, 2009

This is the upcoming forecast. I am SO excited for the warm weather this weekend!

Remember the "closet incident"? Tonight Chris fixed it! Yeah!

Sunday, April 19, 2009

109/365, April 19, 2009

A fun time at Judy and Luke's last night. We thought it was pretty funny that as we sat down to get this picture taken, none of us sat with our spouses!

108/365, April 18, 2009

My grandson Braden at 1 month old (9 lbs, 11oz on 4/20/09)

Here is Braden's 1 month "bear picture". I am amazed at how big he's gotten! His disposition is still great, he loves to be around people and does not like to be alone--he may be a bit spoiled...lol. He has started to wake up at 3am for a feeding and drinks almost 32oz a day. The poor little guy had surgery last Monday to remove a mass in his tummy. We are awaiting the results on that. He loves music and likes to just stare at you and take in everything you say. His newborn clothes barely fit him anymore, so he is moving on to the 0-3 months size now. We are just starting to see hints of a smile :)

Friday, April 17, 2009

107/365, April 17, 2009

What a mess! As I do laundry, I use this closet to hang clothes that eventually need to make it to their respective bedroom closets. Well, tonight was the "hanger that broke the shelf's back", because the whole rack came tumbling down.

Thursday, April 16, 2009

106/365, April 16, 2009

Now here is a sure sign it's spring! Camp is almost open! It doesn't open officially until May 1st, but we were able to go today to start "cleanup/setup". This will be our first full season here, so I am very excited for a great summer!

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

105/365, April 15, 2009

How pathetic! Last fall, we transplanted a lot of our flowers to the campground because we spend so much more time there in the summer. Today I searched my yard for some sign of spring, and all I found was this lonesome little hyacinth that was left behind by the pool.
104/365, April 14, 2009

Another Easter picture... my niece Lily, she is 8 months old.

Monday, April 13, 2009

103/365, April 13, 2009

Look what the Easter bunny left yesterday morning for Braden's 1st Easter! So fun!

Sunday, April 12, 2009

102/365, April 12, 2009

Happy 1st Easter Braden! Kaitie had bought the baby a cute little jumper outfit for Easter. When Dan and I shopped for Braden's Easter basket, he really thought these jeans and polo shirt were "cool". So, Easter morning, all the men in his life decided that he should wear this "little guy" outfit instead.

Saturday, April 11, 2009

101/365, April 11, 2009

I finally got around to doing a photo shoot of Braden. He's a little over 3 weeks old now. It was quite the experience...he cried, peed, and would not lay on his belly. In the long run, I was very proud of the shots I was able to capture. Of course, I had an angelic subject to photograph :)

96/365, April 6, 2009

I won the DST Photo Challenge last week, so I was able to submit one of my photos for my talented digi-friends to alter for me. The submissions were great...I particularly like Damayanti's altering.

This is a family picture taken at the 50th Anniversary party yesterday.

93/2009, April 3, 2009

This is one of my favorite meals... pierogies with sour cream and salsa. Mmmmm :)

Thursday, April 2, 2009

92/365, April 2, 2009

The Weeds and Wildflowers Project 365 Photo Challenge this week was to take a picture of an "unloved" thing we have to do in our everyday lives.

I have a love/hate relationship with my dishwasher. Of course, I love owning one; however, I hate clearing it out. When I don't clear it out right away, the sink fills up with dishes--it's an endless cycle.

91/365, April 1, 2009

My grandson Braden at 2 weeks old (8lbs 2.5oz on 4/1/09)

I will be taking a picture of Braden every month next to this bear to show how he changes over time. In this picture he is 2 weeks old (I had to start somewhere). He has been sleeping through the night since 5 days old. He sleeps 5-7 hours at night. He is very good. He rarely cries; however, he does cry when getting changed. He's getting better with that though. So far, he has a great disposition. He is very strong and has held his head up since birth, and the pediatrician joked at his 1 week check up that he thought he might roll over! He is wearing newborn clothes, but fills them out pretty good and may have to move on to the next size soon.

Back to Work

I am back to work after 8 weeks of being unemployed. I am working for the same company, and I will be working from home. This is the mess I am dealing with right now, and this is only a fraction of it. As soon as I get back in the groove, I will need to get myself re-organized. I despise clutter!

Monday, March 30, 2009

89/365, March 30, 2009

Braden loves his Glow Seahorse-and his Mommy does too. In the morning, Kaitie keeps pressing the toy's belly to keep it going so she can sleep in. Actually, as I write this, I hear a familiar "sound of music" in the next room :)

Sunday, March 29, 2009

88/365, March 29, 2009

Today was Dan's last high school hockey banquet. The Seniors were presented with their home jerseys in a frame.

Saturday, March 28, 2009

87/365, March 28, 2009

Yay, the temperature outside is the same as the temperature inside! I'm not sure the outside temp is accurate because of where the sensor is, but it is still a beautiful spring day!

Friday, March 27, 2009

86/365, March 27, 2009

This was Rick's fish at the Nortec Inc. office. Now that the office is now at my house, I brought him home to live in my fish tank.

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

84/365, March 25, 2009

The temperature was warm (for Rochester) today. Bella loves to sun herself on the deck.

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

83/365, March 24, 2009

You got to love "baby shoes". I love these little sandals-courtesy of Great Grandma Page.

Monday, March 23, 2009

82/365, March 23, 2009

It's a shame that Braden doesn't have a thing to wear...and this is only the HALF of it! Good thing though, because he goes through a few outfits a day :)

Sunday, March 22, 2009

81/365, March 22, 2009

Braden after his first sponge bath at home-his hair is so fluffy and it definitely favors that faux-hawk!

Braden Daniel
7lbs 7oz, 20 inches
March 18th at 1:58pm

Finally, Braden has arrived! There was no induction. They broke the water at around 8:15am and the baby was born at 1:58pm. Everything went smoothly and we are all so excited to finally meet the little guy!

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

76/365, March 17, 2009

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Well, no baby yet... So, tonight Kaitie went to the hospital for an overnight stay. She is scheduled to be induced tomorrow morning. When I saw the little baby warmer bed all set up in the corner waiting for the baby's arrival, it all seemed so real and exciting.

Monday, March 16, 2009

75/365, March 16, 2009

41 weeks tomorrow... here is my last pregnancy picture of Kaitie. She will go into the hospital for induction on Wednesday if the baby doesn't show up soon!

Sunday, March 15, 2009

74/365, March 15, 2009

A beautiful pre-spring sunset. You can just "feel" that spring is just around the corner--at least I'd like to think so :)

Saturday, March 14, 2009

73/365, March 14, 2009

Oooh, Bella will be jealous! Chris and Molly got something goin' on! Tonight we spent the evening with Chris and Denise because it was her birthday. Molly is one of their dogs.

Friday, March 13, 2009

72/365, March 13, 2009

The "guys" went to an RIT hockey game tonight. Kaitie and I did a little shopping and then had dinner at Red Robin (my guilty pleasure). Kaitie had the "Banzai Burger" and I ordered the "Sicilian Burger" which was absolutely delicious! The herbed focaccia bun makes this burger so special.

Thursday, March 12, 2009

71/365, March 12, 2009

We celebrated my Mom's (3/7) and my sister Julie's (3/13) birthdays tonight. Here is a picture of them both...and my niece Riley too :)

BABY'S DUE DATE!!!
...but no baby yet...

Kaitie and I found these cute iron-on transfers at Jo-Ann Fabrics. Today we made burp cloths with them. I think they are super cute :)

Monday, March 9, 2009

68/365, March 9, 2009

Kaitie loves snacks, and she made these quesadillas for us.

Sunday, March 8, 2009

67/365, March 8, 2009

I have been putting off taking this picture for my Project 365 album. Here is my self-portrait, "person behind the camera" picture.

Saturday, March 7, 2009

66/365, March 7, 2009

I got this stopwatch when I was pregnant with Kaitie. I never used it to time contractions because I didn't start labor at home with either of my children. The only time I use this stopwatch is during the holidays when I'm making pizzelles...lol. Well, I dug it out of the drawer again this weekend, perhaps Kaitie will use it to time her contractions.

Friday, March 6, 2009

65/365, March 6, 2009

We had Chris and Denise, and Mike and Terry over for drinks tonight. Here is a picture of Denise, Terry, and I.

Thursday, March 5, 2009

64/365, March 5, 2009

It has been a long winter here in Western NY. Today we hit 50 degrees and it put us in the mood for a "summer meal" of cheeseburgers (on the grill of course), salt potatoes, macaroni salad, and melon.

This is a bit off-topic, but I would like to promote a beautiful digiscrap kit! It's called "Think Pink" and 100% of the proceeds of this kit are benefiting the Avon walk for breast cancer. {Image is clickable}

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

63/365, March 4, 2009

Kaitie, Dave, Chris, and I went open bowling tonight at Dewey Gardens. Chris and I used to be league bowlers, but haven't bowled in years. It was fun :)

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

62/365, March 3, 2009

I went shopping at Kohls today. I shopped the clearance racks and bought $718 worth of clothes for $135! I love bargains! Most of it was for my hubby...he never buys anything for himself. I finally bought myself a new winter wool coat though. It took hours to go through all the racks, but it was worth it.

Thursday, February 26, 2009

57/365, February 26, 2009

Dan struggled with his government class last semester, so he has to retake it this semester. Today he received this post-it note from his teacher. In addition to being happy he is doing well in the class, I love that it has a little sticker on it.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

56/365, February 25, 2009

Here are our Valentine's Day cards to each other. It's time to toss them, so I thought I would take a picture first.

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

55/365, February 24, 2009

Chris and Kaitie loading up the car after a Super Walmart shopping trip. Gotta make sure Kaitie has lots of "snaaacks" (said in a drawn out, whiny voice).

Monday, February 23, 2009

54/365, February 23, 2009

I know this picture is not the best quality, but my son does not have a lot of patience with my constant picture taking. I wanted to get a picture of him on his way out the door to turn in his hockey jerseys and bag back to the school. The balloons were left over from the Senior Farewell.

Sunday, February 22, 2009

53/365, February 22, 2009

I picked up my parents from the airport today. They took a 10-day trip to Hawaii, so I decided to post a picture that they took while on vacation.

Saturday, February 21, 2009

52/365, February 21, 2009

I've been melancholy about hockey coming to an end this year because Dan is graduating from High School. One thing I will not miss is his hockey equipment strewn all over my family room as it "dries out" between practices and games. I certainly won't miss the smell either!

Friday, February 20, 2009

51/365, February 20, 2009

I am so excited that I finally received my new Dell E6400 laptop! I cannot wait to scrap with it!

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

49/365, February 18, 2009

Today I just took a picture of one of my favorite things in my house. It's a big tapestry that hangs in my dining area.

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

48/365, February 17, 2009

My husband, who very rarely uses the computer, apparently had some free time to surf the internet. He announced that he ordered the Acai Berry dietary supplement. I immediately flipped out because I knew it was a scam. We tried to cancel to no avail. Luckily we were able to cancel his debit card in time for no charges to be put on it. We did receive the product, but they are not getting a dime from us!

Monday, February 16, 2009

47/365, February 16, 2009

While remodeling the baby's room, we decided to replace the window. My husband took the old window out and then called local home improvement stores looking for a replacement (thinking this was a standard size). Well, it was not, so we boarded the hole up and ordered one. Two months later the new window is finally in. I think there is a lesson to be learned here? :)

Sunday, February 15, 2009

46/365, February 15, 2009

We had our annual Hilton Hockey spaghetti dinner fundraiser today. The boys were our waiters. Here they are loading up to serve their family members. We had a great time, the picture/video slideshow was really nice.

Saturday, February 14, 2009

45/365, February 14, 2009

Today was Dan's Senior Farewell for hockey. It was pretty emotional that after 13 years of hockey, it is coming to an end.

Friday, February 13, 2009

44/365, February 13, 2009

My daughter Kaitie got engaged yesterday...here is a picture of the ring.

Thursday, February 12, 2009

43/365, February 12, 2009

All I can say is "yuck". All of our snow melted and it's a rainy, cold, and very windy day. I cannot wait for spring-it can't get here fast enough for me.

To make matters worse, my parents just called me...they are sitting at the pool in Hawaii on vacation :)

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

42/365, February 11, 2009

This is the last load of "baby" laundry before my grandson arrives. Everything is now all washed and ready. Oh...and don't you love the smell of Dreft?

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

41/365, February 10, 2009

I'm embarrassed to admit how dirty my fridge was. After a $200 grocery shopping trip, Kaitie and I decided to "clean and purge" the refrigerator. Three hours later it was like new.

Monday, February 9, 2009

40/365, February 9, 2009

OK...only 4 people live in this house and today I looked over and saw TEN pairs of shoes by the doorway! I have to mention that NONE of them are mine--I put mine away when I enter the house. And, no, there were no "guests" here at the time.

Sunday, February 8, 2009

39/365, February 8, 2009

The 9th-annual Polar Plunge took place today at Charlotte Beach. The air temp was 35 degrees and the water temp was 34 degrees.

About 1,300 people dashed into the icy water and netted approx. $200K in donations. The guy with his arms up, with plaid shorts, is our friend Bill Ryan. Dan's assistant hockey coach also participated.

Saturday, February 7, 2009

38/365, February 7, 2009

Kaitie "in motion"... it's funny to watch someone 8-months pregnant doing the virtual hula hoop.

Friday, February 6, 2009

37/365, February 6, 2009

Dan, Derek, and Ryan...long time, no see.

Thursday, February 5, 2009

36/365, February 5, 2009

I was really happy to receive this delivery today. I had left my hair dryer, curling iron, and straightener at the hotel we stayed at 2 weeks ago. Finally, I can get "beautified" again!

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

35/365, February 4, 2009

Kaitie and I are Wii Fit "addicts". We went to the Wii Plaza screen and saw that our Mii's were chatting and doing exercises while Chris and Dan were "sleeping" because they have been inactive. We thought that was pretty funny--guess you had to be there :)

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

34/365, February 3, 2009

SUNY Brockport Tuttle Ice Arena: This is where it all started 13 years ago...we signed up Dan for Tri-County youth hockey and this was his home rink for 10 years. We had a lot of great times in this rink and met a lot of friends along the way. Dan is now a Senior and plays for Hilton H.S. Today we had a game vs. Brockport H.S. at this rink. This was the last time Dan's skates hit this ice...it's the end of an era. :(

Monday, February 2, 2009

33/365, February 2, 2009

This is Dan's scar 9 days after the skate injury (see 26/365, January 26, 2009). The stitches came out 4 days ago. I think it is healing nicely.

Sunday, February 1, 2009

32/365, February 1, 2009

Kaitie had her 2nd baby shower today at my sister Julie's house. It was a brunch and the food was great. We had a good time. It was also Super Bowl Sunday (Pittsburgh vs. Arizona-Steelers won). We all got together at my sister Kristin's house later to watch it.

Saturday, January 31, 2009

31/365, January 31, 2009

Kaitie has another baby shower tomorrow and I made these cupcakes in a jar. They came out really cute! My Mom made the "toppers".

Friday, January 30, 2009

30/365, January 30, 2009

I have been on a search for the Wii Fit for weeks now--making phone calls to stores and checking online daily. Finally, I found one online and received it today! Yippee!

Bella the "snow dog" :)

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

28/365, January 28, 2009

We received quite a bit of snow today. This is a picture of my drive home from my last day at the Nortec office. I was laid off this week :(

So, I wanted a glass of wine tonight. Well, the cork would not cooperate, which resulted in wine splashing out all over the place (including the ceiling) and a cork in the bottle.

Dan got hurt last weekend. While in the locker room after a game, a fellow player tossed his hockey skate at the wall and it bounced off and cut Dan's forehead. Dan received a total of 20 stitches (8 underlying and 12 on top).

24/365, January 24, 2009

While in Plattsburgh, we headed up to Rouses Point for a hockey game. Rouses Point is located in the northeastern corner of New York State. With the Canadian border just north, and historic Lake Champlain, spanned by an impressive bridge, on the east, the Village provides a natural gateway to Canada, Vermont, and New England. I took this picture of the trucks and shanties of the ice fisherman on Lake Champlain. It was a really cold, sunny, crisp day.

My daughter, Kaitie, is not the neatest person in the world. Her bedroom is always a mess. Well tonight she decided to do a "clean sweep" and finally get rid of the clutter. It was quite a job, and several garbage bags later, you can finally see the bedroom floor.

The Hilton Cadets (8-1-2) faced the biggest game of the season today against the Greece Thunder (10-0-0, and #1 in the state). Hilton scored 1st, but Thunder came back to score 3 goals. The 4th goal was an empty netter resulting in a score of 4-1.

Hilton put in a great effort, let's get 'em next time boys!

Here is a picture of my son (#10, in black).

I work for a company that is based in Israel. I have been long-distance friends with my counterpart in Israel. Her name is Ronit. She has come to the states to enjoy the holidays with her family and today she arrived at our office. It is so nice to finally meet her in person. She gave me this gift. It's a beautiful hand-painted coffee mug made by an Armenian family in Jerusalem.

I know we will be friends for years to come...thanks Ronit.

My Dad has been working on his memoirs for a while now. For Christmas he gave me and my siblings a copy of each (My Life's Work and My Life, My Words). I have not read them yet, I would like to sit down with my husband and children and read them together soon. We have a weekend car trip to take soon, perhaps we will do it then.

Thanks Dad <3
